About EaglePeak Consulting

EaglePeak Consulting Ltd was formed by Neil O’Doherty in April 2006 with a vision to assist small and medium sized businesses with the implementation and development of Quality and Environmental Management Systems, the ultimate objective normally being third party certification to internationally recognised management system standards such as ISO 9001:2000 & ISO 14001:2004. Since that time, Neil has extended his track record of successful implementations in each contract he has undertaken.

In addition to on—site activities, from November 2006, a range of QMS & EMS documentation systems and self assessment tools have also been made available attracting orders from both within the UK and overseas.

About Neil O’Doherty

After graduating from University with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Neil spent the first ten years of his career in the automotive supply chain where he gained extensive experience in the use and implementation of such tools as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Advance Quality Planning (AQP), as well as problem solving processes such as 5-Why, 8D, Cause & Effect Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis. He also has extensive experience of the management and conduct of internal & supplier audit programmes, calibration, error proofing and continual improvement. Experience also includes customer & supplier liaison at all levels.

As Quality Assurance Manager, he was responsible for leading the development of the Quality Management System and its upgrade and certification to BS EN ISO 9001:2000, and ultimately to its automotive specific derivative, ISO/TS 16949:2002, including customer specific requirements, together with Ford Q1:2002. TS 16949 registration opened up significant new business opportunities for the company, and since that time the organisation has expanded from five to seven sites within the UK.

He was also responsible for the implementation of an Environmental Management system which was registered to BS EN ISO 14001:1996 and subsequently upgraded to the 2004 version of the standard. He is experienced in the identification of legislation, environmental aspect and impact assessment and the management and conduct of Environmental Audit programmes.

In 2004 he moved into the security printing industry where he was responsible for the leadership of the successful implementation of an Information Security Management System and its third party registration to APACS Standard 55, a sector specific derivative of the BS 7799_2:2002 information security standard, and prior to leaving the company to form EaglePeak Consulting, he set out a plan so that the company will readily be able to upgrade to the latest revision of this standard, based on ISO 27001:2005.

In June 2007, Neil completed a QMS scope of registration extension project with an electronic instrumentation manufacturer, which led to successful certification to BS EN ISO 9001:2000. In addition he assisted in their understanding and implementation of their obligations as an electronic instrumentation manufacture under the WEEE  (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive. On completion of the project he was asked to carry out an additional project enabling web-browser navigation of their QMS documentation.

In July 2007 Neil began working on an ISO/ TS 16949 implementation programme with one of the world’s leading filtration product manufacturers, at their manufacturing site in Cornwall. On 29th April 2008 the company successfully achieved registration to TS 16949.
